Academic
Academics at St. Catherine of Genoa is our primary focus, and it certainly shows in the outstanding achievements of our students. We are a "Reading First" school, and our emphasis on the foundational skills of reading, writing and comprehension have given forth phenominal results. All of our students are reading as they leave Kindergarten, and our reading coach works with both students and teachers alike to ensure the continuation of this quality program.
In addition to our well-equipped and learning-focused classrooms, St. Catherine of Genoa has a Computer Lab, a Science Room, a Reading First Room and a Title I Room.
Our wonderful faculty - many of whom have been part of the St. Catherine of Genoa faculty for over 15 years - is dedicated to striving for academic excellence in all grades. Our standardized test grades are FAR beyond the New York State and New York City averages - in some cases by over 30 percentage points!
