6th GRADE-MS. CRUZ
WELCOME TO 6th GRADE!!
I want to welcome you to 6th grade and the Junior High! It is the first step in your journey to High School. I know that you're probably nervous about what it will be like. You must be ready to work hard and put your best effort in all you do. Don't worry too much--I've been in 6th grade for a long time. The best advice I can give you is to listen, ask questions and be prepared. I am considered the "gatekeeper" of Junior High. I will keep you organized and on task. You will be dealing with 5 teachers now instead of one. We all have our way of doing things. However we do want you to succeed. Some may need more time to adjust than others-and that's okay. Be willing to ask for help if you're unsure of what needs to be done. Within a month most of you should be settled in to the routine.
On Wednesday morning I will meet you in the schoolyard at 8:00 am. We will then go up to the classroom. I will be reviewing the routine and expectations I have for you. On Thursday and Friday you will have some time to meet your other teachers (you're first day of changing classes). Don't forget that on these three day you will be dismissed at 11:00 am.
I look forward to meeting you on Wednesday morning.
Ms. Cruz
